Netflix in 4K – How to Watch?

Although Netflix allows users to access 4K video, not all of Netflix is available in this format. Additionally, Netflix rotates titles in and out each month and does not always make announcements on the arrival of new 4K material. In this article you would come to know how to watch Netflix in 4K Ultra HD.

Netflix offers Ultra HD streaming on a variety of 4K devices.

You need the following to view Netflix in Ultra HD:

  • Netflix subscription that allows for Ultra HD streaming.
  • A computer or television with a 60Hz refresh rate that supports Netflix’s Ultra HD streaming.
  • A consistent internet connection speed of at least 15 megabits per second.
  • Auto or High streaming quality is selected.

TVs and devices that support 4K Ultra HD

Look up your device’s model in the Netflix Help Center to see which Ultra HD options are available. The Ultra HD section will be listed if Ultra HD is supported by your device. For more information, you can also get in touch with the maker of your device. For Ultra HD playing, devices must have the most recent firmware installed.

Netflix in 4K Ultra HD on a computer

On Windows and Mac PCs, you can access Netflix in Ultra HD with:

  • Windows 10 with Microsoft Edge
  • Windows 10 and Windows 11 applications
  • MacOS 11.0 or later and Safari

In order to play Ultra HD material on these PCs, the monitor must support 4K at 60Hz.

Simply connect into your Netflix account on your Smart 4K Ultra HD TV and browse down the 4K Ultra HD content line or choose 4K from the category menu to see if any new 4K titles have recently been added.

  • Once you’ve located the 4K movies and TV shows, simply click “Play” to start watching. Remember that in order to play 4K content, you must have the appropriate subscription, as previously indicated.
  • You could also be able to find 4K titles by putting “4K” or “UHD” into the Netflix search page if the 4K content line or category listing does not appear on your account page.
  • The content will play in 4K as promised if Netflix is able to identify the appropriate TV, subscription type, and internet speed. Netflix will, however, automatically change the streaming quality (resolution) if any of those conditions are not met.
  • Access your TV’s info or status menu (different for each TV manufacturer; refer to user guide if necessary) to see if it is receiving the 4K stream. The arriving video signal’s resolution must to be shown in the info/status function. You are good if it reads 4K, UHD, 3840×2160, or 2160p. You are not, however, accessing the 4K streaming version of your chosen video if your status information turns out to be 1080p (1920×1080) or lower resolution.

How to Use an Ultra HD TV to Watch Netflix

There are a few requirements for your TV (and you) in order to watch Netflix in 4K.

  • Your 4K Ultra HD TV must be a smart TV with internet connectivity. Nowadays, most are, but if you have an older set, you’ll need to check.
  • Your TV must be both a smart TV and have an integrated HEVC decoder. This is what makes it possible for the TV to properly decode the Netflix 4K feed.

Visit the Netflix Help Page for additional guidance if you believe you meet all of the aforementioned requirements but are still having trouble receiving 4K material.
